Ajman Port and Customs Department Welcomes Ajman University Law Students as Part of the “Knowledge Horizons” Initiative

Ajman Port and Customs Department welcomed a group of female students from the College of Law at Ajman University as part of the “Knowledge Horizons” initiative, which aims to introduce students to the working environment within the ports and customs sectors and enhance their practical legal knowledge related to these fields.

This visit comes as part of the Department’s efforts to strengthen its role in spreading awareness and promoting knowledge culture among students through community responsibility initiatives that contribute to building capabilities and developing future skills. The visit program was designed to provide an integrated educational experience, including an introduction to customs and maritime laws and procedures, as well as showcasing the latest technologies used in inspection and monitoring operations, including smart systems and advanced operational tools, in line with the evolving legal requirements of this vital sector.

The program also included a field tour of several operational facilities at the port, including the quay area, container yard, customs inspection facilities, container scanning devices, and inspection warehouses, in addition to a visit to the Innovation Lab, where the students were introduced to innovative solutions and future technologies that contribute to the development of customs operations. The students also participated in interactive workshops linking the theoretical aspects of their studies with practical real-world applications.

At the conclusion of the visit, Ajman Port and Customs Department affirmed that the “Knowledge Horizons” initiative reflects its commitment to building an aware and qualified generation equipped with the legal and practical knowledge necessary to support border security and strengthen the national economy. The Department also emphasized its continued commitment to implementing qualitative initiatives that promote community awareness and support sustainable development.
