Ajman Port and Customs Department successfully carried out a refloating and towing operation for the supply vessel SV Dream Liner, which had run aground on Ajman Corniche, completing the operation in less than 24 hours from the incident. The achievement reflects the efficiency of the department’s operational system and its rapid emergency response capabilities.

The vessel had run aground during the recent adverse weather conditions due to strong winds and high waves. In an immediate response, the department, in coordination with the relevant authorities, implemented all necessary measures to contain the situation, ensure the safety of the crew, and prevent any potential environmental impact on the shoreline. The vessel was successfully refloated in record time and safely towed to Ajman Port.

In this context, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Department, affirmed that the successful refloating of the vessel within a short timeframe demonstrates the efficiency and readiness of the department’s operational system and its ability to respond immediately and professionally to emergencies, ensuring the protection of lives, preservation of the marine environment, and safeguarding of the emirate’s tourism assets. He also praised the efforts of all concerned entities that contributed to completing the operation smoothly and safely.

For his part, Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nuaimi stated that the successful handling of this maritime incident reflects the competence of the national workforce and the rapid field response in accordance with the department’s approved emergency response plans for such incidents.
