Integrated Management Systems Policy

Ajman Department of Ports and Customs is committed to providing pioneering and sustainable maritime and customs services to all concerned parties at the highest levels of quality and excellence. Department of Ports and Customs seeks to meet their requirements and exceed their expectations, meet the requirements of comprehensive development, keep pace with local and global developments to improve the investment environment and achieve competitive advantages in accordance with best practices and in line with the requirements of international specifications for the Quality Management System ISO 9001, Customer Relationship Management ISO10002 and ISO 10004, Enterprise Risk Management ISO31000, Environmental Management ISO 14001, Occupational Health and Safety Management ISO 45001, Business Continuity Management ISO 22301, Information Security Management ISO 27001, Corporate Governance Management ISO37000, Business Continuity Standard of the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority NCEMA 7000:2015, Asset Management ISO 55000, Project Management ISO 21500, and Partnership Management System Specification ISO 44001:2017.
Given the key role played by the Department in supporting the economy of the Emirate of Ajman, maintaining the security of its trade, developing the maritime transport sector, and facilitating trade exchange operations, which contribute to attracting local and foreign investments to the Emirate, the Department seeks to ensure its ability to perform its role and continue providing its services, operations, and activities under all exceptional circumstances and during incidents that disrupt the workflow, while fully complying with all legislative, legal, regulatory, and other requirements that regulate the workflow in a manner that achieves its vision, mission, and strategic objectives, and ensures optimal preservation of the environment and occupational health and safety requirements through:

  • Adopting and implementing policies and principles of corporate governance and risk management within an integrated control system.
  • Adopting and implementing policies, strategies, plans and procedures related to business continuity to ensure its sustainability and address any potential risks, in accordance with the requirements of the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority.
  • Adopting and implementing policies to manage and protect the security and confidentiality of information and ensuring the availability of information, information assets and the necessary infrastructure in order to facilitate the safe use of information and address any internal and external threats.
  • Ensuring compatibility and integration between the requirements of administrative systems and the Department’s operations while ensuring systematic review and continuous improvement to ensure their effectiveness.
  • Adopting objectives for the integrated management system, developing plans to achieve them, and working to manage and measure them periodically in a manner that ensures the highest quality standards, working to simplify procedures and deal with complaints and suggestions with transparency, fairness, objectivity and confidentiality, reducing diseases, injuries and accidents in workplaces, and reducing environmental pollution and risks that affect health, safety and occupational health.
  • Exerting maximum efforts to raise awareness of the requirements of integrated management systems, roles and responsibilities in a manner that supports the culture of transparency and clarity among the various administrative levels of the Department and the concerned parties through effective communication channels.
  • Empowering and training human resources and technical expertise according to best practices to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in operations and services, enhancing their competencies and capabilities through participation and teamwork, and creating a stimulating environment that helps creativity to provide smart and proactive services
  • Optimally employing and using available resources and modern technologies as a catalyst for achievement and innovation.Based on the Department’s commitment to the process of continuous development and improvement of its operations, the Department has published its policy to all concerned parties through available communication channels to enhance knowledge and work on reviewing and updating it periodically.
