How can I apply for services through the website?
To apply for services through the website, you must first register through the Customer Registration service. After the request is approved, you can use your user account details to log in to the e-services portal, select the required service, fill in the information, and attach the required documents. After submitting the request, you will be directed to the online payment page. You can also track the request status through the Requests page, and the service output will be displayed on the user page and sent by email.
What payment methods are available for service fees?
Service fees can be paid electronically through the Ajman Pay platform.
How can I pay service fees?
After applying for the service, the customer will be redirected to the Ajman Pay platform to complete the service fee payment.
What is the customs duty rate applied to goods?
Customs duties are imposed at 5% of the value of imported goods based on cost, insurance, and freight (CIF), except for alcoholic beverages, which are subject to 50% duties, and cigarettes, which are subject to 100% duties.
What are the exemptions from customs duties?
There are customs duty exemptions in accordance with approved regulations. These include shipments exported outside the country, used personal effects, shipments of national factories under industrial exemption, imports of diplomatic and military entities, imports of charitable organizations and associations, and goods of GCC or Arab origin provided that a certificate of origin is available, subject to the required approvals from the competent authorities.
What is the difference between Value Added Tax and customs duties?
Value Added Tax differs from customs duties. Customs duties are imposed at 5% of the value of goods in accordance with customs regulations, while Value Added Tax is applied in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Tax Authority.

What procedures are required for license holders to clear goods and sell them in the local market?
The license holder must obtain an importer code to apply for the appropriate customs declaration. When dealing with free zone companies, the required customs declaration must be completed to sell the goods in the local market. Some goods may also require approvals or permits from the competent authorities, which must be attached with the required documents to complete customs clearance procedures.
Who is authorized to clear goods through customs?
Goods may be cleared by companies that have an importer code issued by the Department of Ports and Customs, the registered owner of the goods, their representative, or an authorized customs broker. Licensed clearance agents may also complete the procedures on behalf of consignees, provided that an importer code and authorization from the goods owner are available.
What are the approved customs valuation methods under the Customs Valuation Agreement?
Imported goods are valued according to the approved customs valuation methods and in the specified order, starting with the transaction value of imported goods, followed by the transaction value of identical goods, the transaction value of similar goods, the deductive value method, the computed value method, and finally the flexible fallback method when the previous methods cannot be applied.
What procedure is followed if there is doubt about the accuracy or validity of the customs value?
If customs officers have doubts about the validity or accuracy of the data, they may request additional clarifications or documents from the importer to prove that the declared value represents the amount actually paid or payable for the imported goods.
Does the customs value include charges related to shipping, insurance, loading, unloading, and delivery?
Yes, the customs value of goods imported into Ajman is based on the cost, insurance, and freight principle. It includes the value of the goods in addition to transportation, insurance, and other charges until the goods arrive at the place of import, in accordance with the GCC Common Customs Law and its Executive Regulations.
How is the customs value calculated if the purchase currency differs from the currency approved in the country?
Customs duties are calculated based on the approved foreign currency exchange rate at the time of submitting the customs declaration.
Does the customer have the right to appeal customs valuation decisions?
Yes, the importer has the right to appeal customs valuation decisions in accordance with Article 11 of the Customs Valuation Agreement, without imposing a penalty on the determined customs value. The appeal may be submitted to the Valuation Dispute Committee by sending an email to info@apcd.ae.
Are the X-ray inspection devices used by the department safe for health?
